Frédéric Chopin, a shining figure of the Romantic era, will captivate you with the contrasts and harmony in his works. His music is distinguished by fiery inspiration, heightened emotional intensity, elegant logic, and aristocratic sophistication.

Varvara Tarasova will perform waltzes from the famous ballets of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, one of the world’s greatest composers. These masterpieces will transport you to the stage of a grand theatre, where you can imagine the prima ballerina performing her part.

Varvara Tarasov

Varvara Tarasova, winner of over 15 International Piano Competitions, released her debut CD of Brahms and Schumann with Champs Hill Records in 2017, earning critical acclaim and awards like the Soirée D’Or and Hopkinson Gold Medal.

An honours graduate of the Royal College of Music (full scholarship recipient) and Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, she holds two Master of Performance degrees and an Artist Diploma. Currently, she is pursuing vocal studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Tarasova has performed across Europe, the USA, Brazil, and Russia with renowned orchestras and conductors, appearing at festivals such as Torre de Canyamel and Rheingay. She collaborates with the Yamaha Artistic Centre and participates in DEBUT’s Horizon project, alongside ongoing performances with opera singers and instrumentalists worldwide.

A booking fee of 8% will apply to purchases made by telephone or online.

Access seats are available to visitors with additional access requirements such as wheelchair users. Sign-up to the access scheme to book these seats.

This performance is not likely to be suitable for children under 6 due to the acoustics in the auditorium. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Under-10’s are not permitted to sit on the balconies.

No food or drrink other than bottled water is permitted in The Tung Auditorium.

The Fröhlich Café Bar is open for drinks 90 minutes prior to the start of each performance.

This concert will last approximately 1 hour with no interval.
