Childhood and lullabies weave through this concert, which puts the spotlight on Benjamin Britten to mark the 50th anniversary of his death. Britten composed themes for his Simple Symphony as a child, while A Charm of Lullabies reimagines texts by Blake and Burns.
Timothy Jackson presents a gentle hymn of comfort, and two works by Grammy Award-winning composer Caroline Shaw offer a psychedelic take on fairytales and nature.
