Raphael Wallfisch plays Elgar
Once again, the Orchestra dell’Arte are delighted to be welcoming back the international soloist Raphael Wallfisch when he joins them to perform the Elgar Cello Concerto.
Written in 1919, the cello concerto is a cornerstone of Elgar’s music and is performed worldwide. It is a quintessentially English work, and needs a soloist who can draw the utmost in expressive tonality, Raphael Wallfisch is the perfect person to do just that and this concert is set to be a landmark Orchestra dell'Arte concert at The Tung Auditorium.
The concert also will present music by Delius, Walton, Vaughan-Williams and Bantock.
