Orchestra dell’Arte: Castelnuovo-Tedesco
The champagne sparkle of this concerto for two guitars will beguile and delight. This work is the last concerto written by Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Always preferring the concerto genre to the symphony, this composer has left a series of wonderfully accessible works including operas and cantatas.
The third act of Der Rosenkavalier provides us with some of Richard Strauss’ most sumptuous music and the concert ends with Dvorak’s magnificent Symphony No. 8.
