Mia Mai
Part of the Yoko Ono Lennon Lunchtime Concert Series
More tickets for this concert will be released on Wednesday 4 November (four weeks before the concert). If it is currently showing as sold out, please check back on this page then.
A rising name on the north-west bass and experimental scenes, Mia Mai is a harpist, DJ, producer and composer whose approach is wildly unconventional. Her live performances are mystic, considered and playful, taking the harp out of the classical context. She transforms the instrument into a source of percussion, loops and noise, paired with synths and goosebump-inducing vocals.
Her practice is largely improvised, and she uses movement as her stimulus. She explores the combination of bass heavy electronic music fused with Celtic folk, noise, jazz and ambient.
