Anna Meredith’s Fringeflower opens this programme with a contemporary Scottish voice. While Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture is his best-known depiction of the Scottish landscape, his Scottish Symphony offers an even broader view, from brooding storms to moments of lyrical reflection. Between them sits Brahms’s monumental First Piano Concerto, combining epic orchestral colour with the stunning playing of long-time friend of the Liverpool Mozart Orchestra, Martin Roscoe.

Concessions for Liverpool Mozart Orchestra concerts at The Tung Auditorium: under-18's, students and those in receipt of Universal Credit or Jobseekers’ Allowance can purchase tickets for the concessionary price of £7, subject to availability.

This performance is not likely to be suitable for children under 5 due to the acoustics in the auditorium. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Under-10’s are not permitted to sit on the balconies.

Food and hot drinks are not permitted in The Tung Auditorium.
