Join us to hear writer and producer Olivia Harrison reading from her book of twenty poems dedicated to her late husband, George Harrison, to mark the twentieth anniversary year of his passing.
Came the Lightening sees Olivia examining the intimacy and emotional connection of their relationship in a memorable series of poems. She delves into the phenomenon of losing a partner and the passage of time. The poetry is accompanied by a selection of photographs and mementos curated by Olivia, including some never-before-seen images of herself and George.
Olivia will be in conversation with Dr Mike Jones from the University’s School of Music and there will be chance to buy a pre-signed book after the event via our festival bookseller, Blackwell’s.
NB: this event was postponed during our October Liverpool Literary Festival
Dr Jones is Programme Director for the University’s MA Music Industry Studies and he lectures on the MA Beatles: Music Industry and Heritage course. He is a well-respected figure within the music industry and has written a number of publications about industry figures including George Harrison. In 2017 he wrote, directed and produced 'George Harrison and Indian Music', a concert performed at Liverpool Philharmonic.
