More tickets for this concert will be released on Wednesday 28 October (four weeks before the concert). If it is currently showing as sold out, please check back on this page then.

A special lunchtime performance honouring the life and legacy of Joseph Ankrah, one of Liverpool’s pioneering Black musicians and a key figure in the cultural history of L8. As a founding member of The Chants, Joe performed alongside The Beatles during the 60s and became part of the vibrant Toxteth music scene that helped shape modern British music culture.

From the Cavern Club to stages across Europe, his influence stretched far beyond performance, mentoring generations of musicians and creatives within the Liverpool community.

Presented in connection with the exhibition Toxteth: The Harlem of Europe (at the Victoria Gallery & Museum), this tribute celebrates Joe’s enduring impact on Liverpool’s musical and cultural identity through live performance, reflection, and remembrance.
