From 13th-15th May, final year University of Liverpool Undergraduate Music students will perform a series of half hour recitals as a part of their Classical Performance projects.

There will be a diverse range including violin, flute, musical theatre, saxophone, and piano recitals; plus, on Thursday 15th May, an evening performance of Clara Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor in a concert alongside the University Chamber Choir.

Tuesday 13th May

  • 2.30pm – Rebecca Grant performs a selection of musical theatre works.
  • 3.30pm – Thea Hobbs, violin recital including Elgar’s Romance and Ravel’s Violin Sonata.

Wednesday 14th May

  • 2.30pm – Matthew Holroyd performs a contemporary programme of saxophone repertoire, including an original composition alongside marimba, cello, and piano as well as Yoshimatsu’s Fuzzy Birds.
  • 3.30pm – Leo Kyriakides performs a flute recital of twentieth-century repertoire including Debussy’s Syrinx and Ian Clarke Orange Dawn.

Thursday 15th May

  • 2.30pm – Jolie Dao performs Beethoven’s ‘Tempest’ Sonata and Chopin’s Ballade no. 1.
  • 3.30pm – Yue Ma, piano recital including works by Mozart, Schumann, and Schubert.
  • 7.30pm – Soraya Verjee performs Clara Schumann’s Piano Concerto, following the final recital there will be a second half which will showcase the repertoire of the University Chamber Choir as they prepare for their Berlin tour.

The recitals are student assessments so latecomers will not be allowed entry.

Doors for each recital will open 30 minutes before the event time as stated on this webpage and on tickets. Each recital will last approximately 30 minutes.

Access seats are available to visitors with additional access requirements such as wheelchair users. Sign-up to the access scheme to book these seats.

Age 16+.

No food or hot drinks allowed in The Tung Auditorium.
