Crosby Symphony Orchestra returns to The Tung Auditorium with a programme of popular French and Russian music.
Tchaikovsky’s first piano concerto must be one of the greatest concertos of all time – it was an overnight sensation at the premiere in 1875 and subsequently became the first classical piece of music to sell over a million records. Popular local pianist Will Bracken is sure to bring out every luscious romantic melody.
Of a Spring Morning is one of Lilli Boulanger's most popular works, and one of the last she ever wrote as she tragically died at the young age of 24.
Finally, Ravel’s grand orchestration of Mussorgsky’s piano music for Pictures at an Exhibition is a quintessential showpiece, becoming one of the most performed works in the concert repertoire.
