Join us for a lunchtime concert that is out-of-this-world as the Liverpool University Music Society's Brass Band teams up with researchers from Liverpool John Moores University's Astrophysics Research Institute to take you on a musical journey through the solar system and beyond to distant galaxies.

Discover the science behind stars, planets, and galaxies that inspired the music, as local astronomers share fascinating insights to bring the wonders of the Universe to life, accompanied by stunning images from NASA, ESA, and the Liverpool Telescope.

Important information about the free lunchtime concerts

Please only book tickets if you’re sure you can attend. Many of our lunchtime concerts sell out, but a significant number of booked seats go unused. If you can’t make it, please email Box Office as soon as possible so we can release your tickets.

If the event is sold out, keep checking the event page for returns, tickets often become available the day before.

Access seats are available to visitors with additional access requirements such as wheelchair users. Sign-up to the access scheme to book these seats.

This performance is not likely to be suitable for children under 5 due to the acoustics in the auditorium. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Under-10’s are not permitted to sit on the balconies.

Food and hot drinks are not permitted in The Tung Auditorium.

The Fröhlich Café Bar is open Monday to Friday 8.30am-3.30pm during term-time.

This concert will last approximately 50 minutes.
